Kate has been in natural health for over 9 years. Due to her own health issues of Asthma, as a little girl and teenager her ability to play sports and live a normal life was dramatically reduced. After her husband Dr Anthony Golle` had a near brush with death, she too decided to have a check up from his Chiropractor and that check up created a new passion and path for her that she is still on today.
Within 3 months of regular visits to her Chiropractor Kate became drug and Asthma free and still is to this day. Since then, Kate has traveled throughout Europe, Asia and the USA in search of answers in helping more and more people achieve optimal health. Kate has worked extensively as a Colon Hydrotherapist, speaking internationally on the benefits of colonics and cleansing. She has also managed Colon Hydrotherapy for the Anthony Robbins event – Life Mastery. Kate completed her training in Microscopy in Chicago and is accredited with I-ACT (International Association Colon Therapists).
Prior to her involvement in Cleansing and Detox, Kate was one of the leading Trainers for Chiropractic Teams in Australia, Europe and the USA.
Kate welcomed both her children Zavier & Bodhi into the world, naturally and drug free at home and is incredibly passionate about helping support other mothers raise their children drug free. Kate has become a resource for many mothers in breastfeeding, and nutrition for mothers, babies and children.
From a childhood of sickness to a drug free life, Kate is dedicated to helping as many children and adults as possible reach their true potential at Body Brilliant.
Hi Kate,
Just wondering if you know much about Silent Reflux at all and any natural remedies that may help. I am looking for answers for my little one.
Thank you
Sarah
Dear Sarah,
I know how frustrating this can be as a mother. It often leaves you feeling helpless and uncertain of what is the right thing to do. For a few weeks with our second baby, Bodhi, he displayed signs of Silent Reflux and I was heartbroken for him and also pulling my hair out in frustration.
In the many forums I have been on regarding babies and childrens health, it seems that most mothers are advised to give their baby gaviscol or some form of ant-acid to mask the symptoms of what is really going on. Many mothers are scared giving their babies drugs at such a young age, and they should be!
In my own experience, I found that after several Chiropractic Adjustments, Bodhi was a different baby. So much more settled and calm, and was content after his feeds. I also was very mindful of the foods I was eating as it is all passed through the breast milk. Also, if a baby is a c-section birth, they often have weaker digestive systems due to a lack of healthy bacteria in their digestive tract. A probiotic is great for mothers to take to help with this.
For more information on Chiropractic, I have posted an article in our blog for you and also you can visit our website http://www.bodybrilliantchiropractic.com to learn more.
I wish you all the best.

Hi Kate,
Fortunately I was able to breastfeed my daughter for 9 months. Due to work commitments, I am now (reluctantly) introducing formula. My concern lies with giving her dairy products (not to mention all the preservatives and synthetics in formula) My friends happily feed formula from day 1 then move onto cows milk at about 12 months. It just doesn’t seem right to me and I am struggling with guilt of giving her something I know isn’t good for her. But besides breastfeeding exclusively which I can no longer do, I haven’t found any alternatives. I would be interested on your thoughts regarding formula, and cows milk, and what you have chosen to do with your little ones.
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Emma,
Thank you for your question. I know the conflicting opinions around breastfeeding can be really confusing. I was able to breastfeed my first son until he was 18 months old, and intend on feeding my second son for as long as I possibly can.
In speaking with my midwife and other natural health professionals, it seems they all agree that formula should be avoided. The closest milk to breast milk is actually goats milk. It has a lot smaller molecules than cows milk and is easier on the body to digest and break down. At our local health food store, we are able to buy raw goats milk which is frozen. Ideally you want to select raw milk so the nutrients remain intact and beneficial.
I am not sure if you have begun to introduce any solid foods to your daughter yet, but It is really important that foods such as avocados (for good fat), sweet potato, pumpkin, stewed pear and apple are all staples for her in the beginning. You do not want to add to many foods to her digestive system to begin with, as it takes time for their body to get used to the transition from breast milk to food. Processed foods, breads, rusks and biscuits should all be avoided. Simple is best.
If there is an option where you can express for her and also have her beginning on some foods like avocado, sweet potato or pear, that would be the best way to ensure that she is getting all she needs. If expressing isn’t an option, consider goats milk before formula.
I hope this is helpful for you. I will be posting some more information of the order in which foods should be introduced in the next week.
